As a dry texture, it contains no binders. To ensure adhesion it must be applied with Vallejo Terrain Fixer 26322 or over a wet base such as Dark Earth 26218.

• Apply Vallejo Terrain Fixer 26322 over the desired base.

• Sprinkle the Volcanic Black 0.1–0.6 mm texture while the fixer is still wet.

• Press lightly to improve adhesion.

• Once dry, apply grey or brown washes to enrich the colour.

• Add drybrushing in light greys or whites for an ash effect.
