Elegoo Jupiter 2: Large-Format 16K Resin Printer with Professional-Grade Automation

The Elegoo Jupiter 2 is Elegoo's next-generation large-format resin 3D printer, built for users who need to combine a massive build volume with the fine detail that only a 14-inch monochrome LCD screen at 16K resolution can deliver. It builds on the DNA of the original Jupiter and takes it much further, adding a full automation suite—multi-point auto-leveling, automatic resin feeding and recycling, and smart vat heating—that turns every print job into a nearly hands-off process. It's the ideal machine for figure and wargaming studios, jewelry makers, industrial prototyping, dental applications, and advanced makers who want to print large parts or full batches without sacrificing sharpness.

With a build volume of 302.4 × 161.98 × 300 mm (close to 14.6 liters), the Jupiter 2 lets you produce busts, helmets, dioramas, or full trays of miniatures in a single run—something simply not possible on a conventional desktop resin printer. And it does all of this while maintaining an effective pixel size of just 20 × 26 µm, so large surfaces come out just as crisp as small ones.

Precision, Screen, and Light Source

At the heart of the Jupiter 2 is its 14" monochrome LCD screen at 16K resolution, which delivers very high pixel density across the entire print area. This translates to an XY resolution of 20 × 26 µm: ultra-fine details, fabric textures, scales, skin pores, and jewelry filigree all reproduced with exceptional accuracy. The UV light source is fully enclosed and emits uniform illumination, eliminating light leakage and ensuring consistent exposure from corner to corner—a critical factor when working with such a large panel. The result is consistent first layers and prints free of overexposed or underexposed areas.

On the Z axis, the machine offers a resolution of 20 µm and supports layer heights from 0.01 to 0.20 mm, with a print speed of up to 70 mm/h that significantly cuts print times on tall parts.

Automation Features That Actually Matter

This is where the Jupiter 2 sets itself apart from virtually every other resin printer on the market:

  • Multi-point auto-leveling with 4 independent force sensors: the build plate self-calibrates by measuring pressure at multiple points, delivering a perfect first layer and reliable adhesion — no more tedious manual paper leveling. Manual leveling is also supported if preferred.
  • Automatic resin feeding and recycling: using a bidirectional pump and resin bottle, the system automatically refills the vat during long prints and recovers any excess resin — ideal for material-intensive jobs.
  • Smart vat heater maintaining 30 °C: keeps resin at the optimal temperature to improve flow and interlayer adhesion, resulting in sharper details and smoother surfaces — even in winter or cold workshops.
  • Smart mechanical sensor: detects anomalies during printing to protect the machine and prevent critical print failures.
  • Built-in camera with live monitoring, timelapse recording, adaptive lighting, and overheat alarm: monitor print progress remotely and capture time-lapse videos of your prints.

Design and Build Quality

The Jupiter 2 features a fully enclosed chassis with doors that contain resin vapors and maintain a stable internal temperature. Its external dimensions are approximately 465 × 508.1 × 648 mm with the doors closed — a surprisingly compact footprint given its large print volume. The modular design allows both the LCD screen and release film (FEP/nFEP) to be replaced quickly and easily, minimizing maintenance and downtime. The printer is controlled via an intuitive 4-inch capacitive touchscreen.

Compatible Resins & Software

The Jupiter 2 works with virtually all 405 nm UV photopolymer resins on the market. You can use Elegoo resins (such as ABS-Like or Standard) or any other quality brand. For mechanical or functional parts, check out tough/ABS-like engineering resins; for models, bonded assemblies, or clear prints, transparent resins are the way to go; and for the easiest cleanup, water-washable resins are the most convenient option. Browse the full range in our 3D printing resin collection.

Slicing is handled by the free ELEGOO Satellite software, which includes optimized profiles for the Jupiter 2. It is also compatible with popular slicers such as Chitubox and Lychee Slicer.

What's in the Box?

The Jupiter 2 arrives ready to print right out of the box, including the build plate, resin vat with pre-installed FEP film, automatic resin feeding system with bottle, power supply, and basic leveling and cleanup tools. We recommend checking the manufacturer's product page for the exact contents of the current kit.

Who Is It For?

The Jupiter 2 is designed for users who need large build volume and high detail at the same time: sculpture studios and collectors printing large one-piece figures, wargaming businesses producing full trays of 16K miniatures, jewelers maximizing every print run, dental labs, industrial prototypers, and advanced makers who have outgrown a desktop printer. If you're looking for more compact machines or other models from the brand, take a look at our full range of Elegoo 3D printers.

Workflow: Print, Wash, and Cure

Resin printing requires post-processing. After printing, each part must be washed to remove uncured liquid resin, then cured under UV light to reach its final mechanical properties. We recommend using a dedicated wash and cure station—explore our wash & cure machines that automate both steps. You'll also need isopropyl alcohol or other solvents for washing: find them in our alcohol and post-processing section. For finishing and painting your prints, check out our painting supplies.

Recommended Accessories

To get the most out of your Jupiter 2 and extend its lifespan, we recommend keeping spare FEP, nFEP, and ACF films on hand—the large-format vat should always be in top condition—along with a screen protector to shield the expensive 16K LCD panel from spills and scratches. These are small investments that help you avoid costly repairs.

Jupiter 2 vs. Original Jupiter

Compared to the original Jupiter, the Jupiter 2 is a massive upgrade: it jumps from 6K/12K resolution to a true 16K 14-inch panel, adds auto-leveling with force sensors (the first generation was manual), and introduces automatic resin feeding and recycling plus a smart vat heater that maintains 30°C, along with a built-in camera. In short, it keeps the large build volume that made the Jupiter series famous, while bringing the kind of automation previously found only in semi-professional machines.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the screen resolution of the Elegoo Jupiter 2?

It features a 14-inch mono LCD screen with 16K resolution, delivering an effective XY pixel size of 20 × 26 µm—ideal for fine detail even on large-format prints.

What is the build volume of the Jupiter 2?

The build area measures 302.4 × 161.98 × 300 mm, approximately 14.6 liters, placing it among the largest desktop resin printers available.

Does the Jupiter 2 self-level?

Yes. It features multi-point auto-leveling using 4 independent force sensors that automatically calibrate the build platform. Manual leveling is also supported if preferred.

What resins are compatible with the Elegoo Jupiter 2?

It works with any 405nm UV resin, including Elegoo and third-party brands. You can choose from standard, tough, transparent, or water-washable resins depending on your application.

Do I need to wash and cure my prints?

Yes. Like all resin prints, parts must be washed with isopropyl alcohol to remove uncured resin, then post-cured under UV light. A wash and cure machine makes this process much easier.

Does the resin bottle refill automatically during printing?

Yes. The automatic resin management system uses a two-way pump that refills the vat and recycles excess resin during long prints, significantly reducing the need for manual monitoring.
