HeyGears Perforated Build Platform for Reflex 2 and Reflex 2 Pro

This is the original build platform for the Reflex 2 series: a 304 stainless steel plate full of holes, the same one that comes as standard with the printer. The holes let the resin drain better as the platform rises out of the vat. Use it as a replacement if yours has been damaged, or as a second platform so you can keep one printing while you remove parts from the other.

Key points

  • Compatible with: Reflex 2 and Reflex 2 Pro.
  • Material: 304 stainless steel.
  • Perforated design: helps liquid resin drain away.
  • It's the same one that comes with the printer in the box.
  • Levelling: adjusted with the T-handle wrench supplied with the printer.

Compatibility

HeyGears lists it only for the Reflex 2 and Reflex 2 Pro. It does not fit the Reflex, the Reflex Turbo or the Reflex RS family: each has its own platform (Reflex platform and Reflex RS platform). It works the same with the standard vat, the Pulsing Release vat and the Pulsing Release Module 2: the platform doesn't change when you use the module.

When to replace it or get a second one

  • If the surface is damaged, bent or dented and parts no longer adhere properly.
  • If you work in batches: with a second clean platform you can start the next job without waiting to remove parts from and clean the first one.
  • Before blaming the platform when a part doesn't stick, check the usual suspects: debris in the vat or in the holes, a damaged film, old resin or low temperature.

Installation and levelling

You mount it on the printer's holder and level it from the menu. These are the steps HeyGears gives for the Reflex 2 series:

  • Make sure the platform and vat are clean, free of debris, and that both are locked in place. The scraper must be at the far right.
  • Go to settings and select platform levelling. Use tweezers to remove the two rubber plugs from the top of the holder.
  • With the T-handle wrench, turn the holder screw in the direction shown on the screen until the value turns green.
  • Confirm. The printer runs a check and, if needed, will ask you for a fine adjustment.
  • Put the rubber plugs back and press OK to return the platform to its position.

Cleaning and using a perforated platform

  • Place the platform in a tray with 95% alcohol or IPA and wipe it with a lint-free cloth. You can spray alcohol into the holes.
  • Dry it with compressed air, including the holes, and check that no resin remains before printing again.
  • Use rafts of at least 10 x 10 mm, no smaller than the part's cross-section and more than 1 mm thick. This prevents Blueprint Studio from generating supports right over a hole.
  • For small parts, group them in Blueprint Studio so they share a single raft.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with both the Reflex 2 and the Reflex 2 Pro?

Yes. HeyGears lists it as compatible with both.

Is it the same one that comes with the printer?

Yes, it's the Reflex 2's standard platform. You buy it as a replacement or as a second platform.

Does it fit the Reflex RS or the original Reflex?

No. Each family has its own platform.

Do I need to level it after swapping it?

Yes, level it from the settings menu using the T-handle wrench.

What are the holes for?

To help the resin drain better. That's why you should use rafts of at least 10 x 10 mm and avoid placing supports over a hole.

How do I clean it?

With 95% alcohol or IPA and a lint-free cloth, getting alcohol into the holes, then drying it with air.

Do I need the Pulsing Release Module to use it?

No. It works the same with or without the module.
