HeyGears UltraPrint Resins

HeyGears UltraPrint resins are the official resins for HeyGears Reflex printers. Each one has its profile already tuned in Blueprint, so you pick the resin and the printer sets the exposure. There are standard modelling resins like PAS10, high-detail ones like PAP10, plus ABS-like, flexible, clear, colour, tooling, high-temperature and castable resin for jewellery.

Before you order: they are 385 nm resins and only some of them also work on the 405 nm Reflex RS. They are not for LCD printers from other brands. Below you will find the compatibility table by printer and which resin to use for what.

First things first: for HeyGears Reflex printers only

All UltraPrint resins are formulated for the Reflex series and validated with HeyGears profiles. The Reflex, Reflex Turbo, Reflex 2 and Reflex 2 Pro work at 385 nm. The Reflex RS and RS Turbo, at 405 nm.

A resin working on the Reflex RS doesn't make it a resin for any 405 nm printer. HeyGears doesn't provide profiles for Elegoo, Anycubic, Phrozen, Creality or similar, and doesn't guarantee the results on them. If your printer isn't a Reflex, these aren't the resins for you.

For printers from other brands, have a look at our 405 nm resins and the rest of the range in resins. If you're after a Reflex, see the HeyGears printers.

The UltraPrint families

HeyGears groups its resins into families by use. Modeling is for models and prototypes: PAS10 standard, PARP10 Orange Clay for rapid prototyping, PAU11 ABS-like, PAT10 clear and PAWW20 water-washable.

Production is for end-use parts: PAP10 high detail, PAF10 PVC-like flexible and PAWR10 wear-resistant. Tooling is for jigs and fixtures: PAU20 polycarbonate-like and PAE10 silicone-like elastic. Molding is for moulds and heat: PAH10 and PAH270.

And there are two single-resin families: Design, with PAM10 in mixable CMYK + white colours, and Casting, with PAC10, a wax-filled castable resin for jewellery.

Which resins work on the Reflex RS and RS Turbo (405 nm)

If you have a Reflex RS or an RS Turbo, these are the ones for you: PAS10, PARP10 Orange Clay, PAP10, PAF10, PAWR10, PAU11 and PAWW20. PAH10 too, but only in Black: Light Brown is 385 nm only.

Not compatible with the RS: PAT10, PAM10, PAU20, PAE10, PAH270 and PAC10. For those you need a 385 nm Reflex, such as the Reflex Turbo or the Reflex 2 Pro.

One thing about PAP10: Ash Grey is validated across the whole series, while HeyGears is updating Black for the Reflex 2. If you have a Reflex 2, check that the profile shows up in Blueprint. In general, HeyGears points out that compatibility keeps expanding and that what Blueprint shows for your machine is what counts.

Resins that require the Pulsing Release Module

Four resins can't be printed without the Pulsing Release Module: PAC10, PAE10, PAU20 and PAH270. All four are 385 nm only, so they run on the Reflex, Reflex Turbo, Reflex 2 and Reflex 2 Pro.

On the Reflex and Reflex Turbo you need the Pulsing Release Module kit for Reflex. On the Reflex 2 and 2 Pro, the Pulsing Release Module 2 kit, or the module without tank if you already have the Reflex 2 Pulsing Release tank. HeyGears doesn't recommend the module for walls of 3 mm or less: with these resins, design thicker walls.

With the rest the module is optional and helps you use fewer supports. The exception is the water-washable PAWW20: it isn't compatible with the module and prints with the standard tank.

Technical resins: heat, tooling, elastic and castable

For heat, PAH10 has a heat deflection temperature of 110 °C in Light Brown and 95 °C in Black, and it's very stiff: good for silicone moulds and tooling. PAH270 reaches 270 °C with a flexural modulus of 7,240 MPa, for short-run injection moulds. More options in high-temperature resins.

For tooling, the polycarbonate-like PAU20 gives 69 MPa tensile and 109 MPa flexural strength with ±0.04 mm tolerances. For soft parts, PAE10 is 49 Shore A with 433 % elongation at break. For clear parts, PAT10 lets 88.5 % of light through and is formulated not to yellow.

For jewellery, PAC10 contains 70 to 75 % wax and leaves 0.01-0.02 % ash after burnout. You'll find more technical resins from other brands in engineering resins and castable resins.

For getting started and everyday printing

If you've just got a Reflex, start with PAS10: it's the entry-level resin in the range, matte, with ±0.05 mm tolerance, in white, light purple and black. One thing to bear in mind: it doesn't support automatic resin refilling.

For miniatures with lots of detail, PAP10, with pillars down to 0.1 mm in black. For gaming figures that get dropped and bent, the PVC-like PAF10. For parts that get handled a lot, PAWR10, with 2H surface hardness. For functional parts that need to take knocks, the ABS-like PAU11. And for scale modelling and visual prototypes, PARP10 Orange Clay.

If you'd rather not keep alcohol at home, PAWW20 washes clean with water in 2 minutes and post-cures in 5. For the rest, wash and cure with the UltraCraft Wash and UltraCraft Cure, or with whatever you use from alcohol and post-processing.

HeyGears resins: frequently asked questions

Can I use HeyGears resins in an Elegoo, Anycubic or Phrozen printer?

No. UltraPrint resins are only validated on HeyGears Reflex printers, with locked profiles in Blueprint. Even though some of them work on the 405 nm Reflex RS, HeyGears doesn't provide profiles for printers from other brands or guarantee the results on them.

Which HeyGears resins are compatible with the Reflex RS Turbo?

PAS10, PARP10 Orange Clay, PAP10, PAF10, PAWR10, PAU11, PAWW20 and PAH10 in Black. PAT10, PAM10, PAU20, PAE10, PAH270 and PAC10 are not compatible.

Which HeyGears resins need the Pulsing Release Module?

PAC10, PAE10, PAU20 and PAH270. They can't be printed without the module. With the rest it's optional, and it can't be used with the water-washable PAWW20.

What's the best HeyGears resin to start with?

PAS10. It's the entry-level resin in the range, runs on every Reflex and works for figures, miniatures and visual prototypes. If you're after more detail, go for PAP10.

Which HeyGears resin should I use for miniatures?

PAP10 for maximum detail, PAF10 for gaming figures that are going to get dropped and bent, and PAWR10 if they get handled a lot and you don't want them scratched.

Is there a HeyGears castable resin for jewellery?

Yes, PAC10. It contains 70 to 75 % wax and leaves 0.01-0.02 % ash. It only runs on the Reflex, Reflex Turbo, Reflex 2 and Reflex 2 Pro, and it needs the Pulsing Release Module.

Which HeyGears resin handles the highest temperature?

PAH270, with a heat deflection temperature of 270 °C. It needs the Pulsing Release Module and doesn't run on the RS. PAH10 reaches 110 °C in Light Brown and 95 °C in Black, and the module is optional.

Can HeyGears resins be washed with water?

Only PAWW20. It rinses clean in water in 2 minutes and post-cures in 5. The rinse water must not go down the drain. The rest are washed with alcohol or ethanol.

Does PAH10 Light Brown work on the Reflex RS?

No. On the Reflex RS and RS Turbo only PAH10 in Black works. Light Brown is only for the 385 nm Reflex printers.

Do HeyGears resins come in colours?

Yes, PAM10, in Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black and White, which you mix together to get the shade you need. It has ABS-like properties and doesn't run on the Reflex RS.
