HeyGears UltraPrint PAM10: mixable CMYK + white colour resin (385 nm)

UltraPrint-Design PAM10 is HeyGears' colour resin. It comes in five base colours, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black and White, designed to be mixed together so you can get the exact shade you need. The best part is that the resin keeps its accuracy and printing behaviour whatever the mix. Mechanically, it is similar to ABS. Sold in 1 kg bottles per colour.

Please note: this is a 385 nm resin for HeyGears UltraCraft Reflex printers. It is not for 405 nm LCD printers from other brands (Elegoo, Anycubic, Phrozen, Creality...). If you have one of those, check out our 405 nm resins.

Key features

  • Five mixable colours: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black and White (CMYK + W).
  • ABS-like properties: 45-47 MPa tensile strength and 20-25 % elongation at break.
  • Printed part tolerance: ±0.05 mm, unaffected by colour.
  • Long-term stability: passes 600 h of UV exposure, damp heat, temperature change and colour fastness to perspiration tests.
  • Wavelength: 385 nm, UltraCraft Reflex series.
  • Format: 1,000 g bottle. Choose the colour in the selector.

How colour mixing works

Just like with printing ink: you start from the base colours and combine them by weight. HeyGears publishes a colouring guide with a practical example. For their colour number 17, the ratio is 20 g of Yellow to 0.6 g of Cyan. To prepare 300 g, scale it the same way: 300 g of Yellow and 9 g of Cyan.

What you need to get it right:

  • A precision scale (HeyGears works to 0.01 g). A drop of resin weighs between 0.04 and 0.07 g, so the scale is what counts.
  • Measuring cups, droppers and a clean stirring stick for each colour.
  • Shake each bottle well before measuring out, as the pigment can settle.

Prepare a small sample first, cure it in a silicone mould and compare it with your reference under good lighting. The gloss of liquid resin is deceptive. Once you've found the shade, prepare the final quantity, mix while scraping the sides of the cup too, and let it rest covered and in the dark until the bubbles disappear.

What it's for

  • Appearance prototypes in the final product colour, with no painting needed.
  • Consumer electronics housings, such as headphone shells, that need long-term stability.
  • Design parts and creative projects with custom colours.

If you're looking for a more technical resin, take a look at our engineering resins and ABS-like resins.

Compatibility: which printers it works with

  • Printers: UltraCraft Reflex, Reflex Turbo, Reflex 2 and Reflex 2 Pro.
  • Not compatible with the Reflex RS / RS Turbo, according to HeyGears' compatibility table.
  • Pulsing Release Module: optional.

If you don't have a printer yet, the UltraCraft Reflex Turbo and the UltraCraft Reflex 2 Pro are compatible.

Technical specifications

HeyGears publishes the values for the two ends of the range, Black and White.

Property Standard Black White

It also passes damp heat (IEC 60068-2-78), temperature change (GB/T 2423.22) and colour fastness to perspiration (ISO 105-E04) tests. Data from HeyGears' laboratory with a deviation of ±10 %.

Use and post-processing

  • Before printing: shake the bottle and stir in the vat. Once the mix is ready, wait until no bubbles remain.
  • Washing: IPA, 1 minute of initial washing and 1 minute of rinsing with clean alcohol, according to HeyGears' process table. You can do this in the UltraCraft Wash. You'll find IPA in post-processing.
  • Post-curing: 30 minutes, according to the same table. Ideally, use the UltraCraft Cure with the Blueprint profile.
  • Leftover resin: store the mix in an opaque, tightly sealed container and write down the recipe. That way you can reproduce the colour.

Safety and handling

According to its safety data sheet, the liquid resin carries the signal word "Warning" and the following hazard statements: H315 (causes skin irritation), H317 (may cause an allergic skin reaction), H319 (causes serious eye irritation) and H335 (may cause respiratory irritation).

  • Nitrile gloves, safety glasses and good ventilation, including while mixing colours.
  • Flash point: 133 °C. Not classified as dangerous goods for transport.
  • Store in a cool, dry, ventilated place, protected from light and with the bottle tightly closed.
  • Do not pour liquid resin down the drain: cure it and dispose of it in accordance with local regulations.

Which HeyGears resin should you choose?

  • PAM10: when colour matters and you want it straight off the printer.
  • PAU11: ABS-like in grey, with slightly higher strength (54 MPa tensile). Better if you're going to paint the part or colour doesn't matter to you.
  • PAT10: if you're after transparency.
  • PAH10: if the part has to withstand heat above 60 °C.

Who it's not for

  • Anyone with a 405 nm printer from another brand, or a Reflex RS.
  • Parts that will operate at high temperatures: its HDT is 59-63 °C.
  • If you don't want to weigh and mix, the most practical option is to use the base colours as they are or choose another resin.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use PAM10 in a 405 nm printer?

No. It is a 385 nm resin formulated for UltraCraft Reflex printers and their Blueprint profiles.

Can I print the colours without mixing?

Yes. Each base colour is a complete resin. Mixing them is optional.

Does accuracy or the profile change depending on the colour I mix?

According to HeyGears, no. The resin is designed to maintain dimensional accuracy and success rate with any combination.

How do I get a specific colour?

By mixing by weight with a precision scale. Try a small sample, cure it and compare it before preparing the large batch.

Which colours do you have?

The five base colours: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black and White, in 1 kg bottles.

Do I need the Pulsing Release Module?

No, it is optional on the Reflex, Reflex Turbo, Reflex 2 and Reflex 2 Pro.

Does it withstand sunlight without yellowing?

It passes 600 h of UV ageing (ASTM G154), which HeyGears equates to around 8 years indoors or 1 year outdoors with no noticeable colour change.

Where is it shipped from?

We ship it from our official distributor in Europe.
