HeyGears Heated Scraper for Reflex 2 and Reflex 2 Pro
The Reflex 2 series scraper is the part that moves across the vat, stirring the resin between layers. The heated version has a built-in heater and temperature sensor: it warms the resin while stirring it and keeps it at printing temperature throughout the entire job. The Reflex 2 Pro comes with it as standard; the Reflex 2 comes with the regular scraper, and this is its optional temperature-control upgrade.
Key features
-
Compatible with: Reflex 2 and Reflex 2 Pro.
-
Faster heating: from 10 °C to 22 °C in 6 minutes, 68 % faster according to HeyGears (tested with PAP10).
-
Temperature control: ±1 °C.
-
Maintains the temperature throughout the entire print.
-
Drip time: 24 % less waiting with high-viscosity resins (HeyGears data with PAU20).
What it's for
Cold resin is thicker: it drains more poorly, struggles to flow under the build plate and causes more print failures. HeyGears recommends printing between 20 and 25 °C. If your workshop gets cold in winter, or you use thick engineering resins, the heated scraper brings the resin up to temperature without waiting for the room to warm up. Stirring also keeps the resin from settling and leaving residue in the vat.
HeyGears data:
- With PAP10, from 10 °C to 22 °C in 6 minutes.
- With PAU20 at 50 µm layers, heating from 25 °C to 35 °C reduced drip waiting time by more than 24 % on models with a cross-section larger than 40 mm.
Compatibility
-
Reflex 2: optional upgrade. The printer comes with the regular scraper.
-
Reflex 2 Pro: included as standard. This one serves as a replacement or spare part.
- Fits the Reflex 2 series vat. The Reflex 2 Pro comes with it as standard and supports the Pulsing Release Module 2 kit, so it also works with the Pulsing Release vat.
- Not compatible with the Reflex, Reflex Turbo or the Reflex RS family. On the RS, heating is handled by the heated vat.
Installation and use
- It fits into the vat just like the regular scraper, after installing the vat and the build plate.
- Before levelling the build plate, the scraper must be at the far right end of the vat. If it doesn't return on its own, move it there by hand.
- Do not disconnect it while it is moving or heating.
Cleaning
HeyGears' procedure for the Reflex 2 series scraper:
- Use a container of about 215 x 145 mm or slightly longer than the scraper.
- Dip only the part that goes inside the vat into 95 % alcohol or IPA. The back of the scraper must not touch the liquid.
- Hold it by the end and move it from side to side to clean it.
- Dry the scraper's holes with compressed air and repeat if any resin remains.
Alcohol and cleaning supplies in post-processing.

Which one should you choose?
If you have a Reflex 2 and your workshop stays above 20 °C all year round, the regular scraper is all you need. If you work in a cold space or use thick resins such as PAU20, the heated one is the upgrade for you. With the Reflex 2 Pro, you only need it as a spare part.
Who it's not for
It's not for the original Reflex, the Reflex Turbo, the RS or the RS Turbo, nor for printers from other brands.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Reflex 2 Pro already include it?
Yes, the Reflex 2 Pro comes with a heated scraper. The Reflex 2 comes with the regular one.
How long does it take to heat the resin?
According to HeyGears, from 10 °C to 22 °C in 6 minutes with PAP10.
How accurate is it?
±1 °C.
Does it work with the Pulsing Release vat?
It fits the Reflex 2 series vat. HeyGears does not indicate any limitation with the Pulsing Release vat.
Is it compatible with the Reflex RS?
No. On the RS, the resin is heated by the heated vat.
How do I clean it?
Only the part that goes in the vat, in 95 % alcohol or IPA, without wetting the back. Then blow compressed air through the holes.
Can I remove it with the printer switched on?
Not while it is moving or heating.
