HeyGears UltraCraft GreenPrint: air purifier for 3D printing spaces
The UltraCraft GreenPrint is a HeyGears purifier designed for the air in a room with resin printers. It targets the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released by resin and alcohol during printing and post-processing. Instead of trapping them in a carbon filter that becomes saturated, it breaks them down through photocatalysis and a degradation reaction until only CO₂ and water remain. That's why it doesn't need expensive replacement filters: just a few dust strips that you change every few months, and they already come in the box.
Key features
-
VOC degradation by photocatalysis: destroys pollutants instead of accumulating them.
-
92 % TVOC reduction in 25 minutes in a 10 m² room (HeyGears lab data).
-
TVOC CADR: 34.17 m³/h. Recommended for rooms under 30 m².
-
No carbon filters to replace: includes 10 dust strips for the pre-filter.
-
TVOC sensor with colour indicator: green, blue, yellow and red.
-
Three speeds plus night mode, timer of up to 12 hours and control from the BlueprintGo app.
-
Direct connection to Reflex 2 and Reflex 2 Pro via an air duct.
What it's for and who it's for
If you print in resin at home or in an office, you know the smell that lingers in the room. That smell is VOCs, and with several printers running at once the concentration rises quickly. The GreenPrint works continuously. In HeyGears' test, with emissions equivalent to more than three printers, it brought the concentration back down to around 0,3 mg/m³ in about two hours and kept it there.
The difference from a household carbon-filter purifier is maintenance. According to HeyGears, a conventional purifier lost around 30 % of its effectiveness in their 52-day test because the filter becomes saturated, while the GreenPrint lost 5.8 % over the same period and then stabilises. It's for small workshops, studios and hobbyists who print in a poorly ventilated room, especially if they have more than one printer.
Compatibility
As a room purifier, it works with any printer: it cleans the air in the room, not inside a specific machine. HeyGears sells it for its Reflex series (Reflex, Reflex Turbo, Reflex RS and Reflex RS Turbo).
With the Reflex 2 Pro and the Reflex 2 there's an extra option: both have a port on the rear panel reserved for the purifier, and you can connect them with an air duct to extract air directly from the print chamber. The duct and connector parts are not included. HeyGears publishes the part files (so you can print them on the Reflex itself) and the list of everything else: a collapsible duct with a 40 mm inner diameter and about 1.2 m long, four 2,9 × 6.5 mm screws and PET tape or clear tape. The Pulsing Release Module is not required.

Setup and maintenance
-
Unboxing: remove the four foam strips from the top and the tape from the rear cover. Open the cover, take out the inner foam and remove the bags from the two photocatalytic modules. Reinstall them in order (number 2 at the bottom and number 1 at the top), connect their power and close the cover.
-
Power on: it starts at speed 2 and runs a 180-second warm-up with a countdown. It then displays the TVOC concentration, speed and timer.
-
App: press and hold the power and speed buttons together for two seconds and add the device as "Purification Unit" in BlueprintGo.
-
Dust strips: HeyGears recommends replacing them every 3-6 months. Wrap them around the photocatalytic module with the velvety side facing out, covering the entire air intake.
-
Display codes: E0, rear cover not closed properly. E1, the unit is not upright. EE, check the photocatalytic module cable.
Safety
Place it on the floor, upright and on a level surface. Switch it off and unplug it before opening the rear cover or setting up the direct connection to the printer. A purifier helps, but it doesn't replace ventilation, gloves or protective equipment when handling resin.
Which one should you choose?
The GreenPrint completes the Reflex series workstation alongside the UltraCraft Wash and the UltraCraft Cure: one washes, one cures and this one cleans the air in the room. If you have a Reflex 2 or Reflex 2 Pro, the direct connection is well worth setting up. With printers from other brands it works just the same, as a room purifier.
Who it's not for
- If you print in a space larger than 30 m² or in a warehouse: it won't be enough.
- If you're looking for a particle filter for FDM or laser machines: HeyGears designs it for VOCs and publishes no data on fine particles or smoke.
- If you expect it to completely eliminate the need for ventilation: it reduces VOCs, but ventilation is still recommended.
Frequently asked questions
Does it need replacement filters?
It has no carbon filters. You only need to replace the dust strips every 3-6 months, and 10 come in the box.
Does it work with printers from other brands?
Yes. As a room purifier, it cleans the air in the room regardless of the printer. The direct duct connection is only designed for Reflex 2 and Reflex 2 Pro.
What do I need to connect it to the Reflex 2?
A collapsible duct with a 40 mm inner diameter, four 2,9 × 6.5 mm screws, PET or clear tape and four connector parts that HeyGears provides as printable files. You open the port on the printer's rear panel and connect it to the purifier.
What area does it cover?
HeyGears recommends it for rooms under 30 m². The 92 % reduction in 25 minutes figure was measured in 10 m².
Is it noisy?
Between 47 and 60 dB(A) depending on the speed. It has a night mode for when you're not printing.
Can I control it from my phone?
Yes, with the BlueprintGo app. It only connects to 2,4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
Where does it ship from?
We ship it from our official HeyGears distributor in Europe.
