HeyGears UltraCraft Reflex RS Turbo: 8K resin printer for miniatures and fine detail
The Reflex RS Turbo is HeyGears' printer for anyone after fine detail: miniatures, figures, collectibles, jewellery and small prototypes. It is an LCD (MSLA) printer with a 10.3" 8K Amber Screen, a 29.7 μm pixel size and a build volume of 222 × 122 × 228 mm. Note one important detail: it works at 405 nm, not 385 nm like the Reflex Turbo or the Reflex 2 Pro.
Of the three Reflex models we sell, it is the lightest and the one best suited to users moving up from an entry-level resin printer who want more detail and fewer failed prints, without wasting time tweaking settings.

What it's for and who it's for
HeyGears designs it for tabletop miniatures, figures, busts, collectibles, jewellery prototypes, moulds and detailed parts. With a 29.7 μm pixel and a high-contrast screen, faces, clothing textures and edges come out crisp. In its official store, HeyGears presents it as a professional-grade machine that is easy to use, especially suited to anyone upgrading from an entry-level printer.
It also works for functional parts with resins such as the ABS-like PAU11 or the wear-resistant PAWR10. What it can't do is handle HeyGears' most demanding engineering resins; for those, there are the Reflex Turbo and the Reflex 2 Pro.
Technology: screen, mechanics and speed
High-contrast Amber Screen
The screen combines a polariser dyed with dye molecules and an optical layer that lets light through at 90°. This means less stray light reaches the layer being cured: less overexposure, cleaner edges and residue-free surfaces. The contrast ratio is 566:1, almost 60% higher than the previous generation. The dye molecules withstand UV and heat well, so contrast degrades less over time. HeyGears quotes over 1 million layers and up to twice the lifespan of a conventional LCD.
Screen calibration
The screen is divided into 60 zones and calibrated with a full-screen tool to keep light variation within ±3% and a print tolerance of 0.05 mm or less. If you replace the screen, the printer recalibrates itself using the NFC data from the new screen, with light differences below 5%.
C5 Z axis and rigid frame
The C5-grade Z module ensures positioning errors of 2 μm at most, tested by HeyGears with a 50 kg load over ten thousand cycles. The frame is highly rigid and the screen has its own cooling.
Speed
The Dynamic Motion Algorithm 3.0 analyses each layer (cross-section, separation and number of parts) and chooses from 18 sets of motion parameters. It splits each layer's movement into seven stages and reads the force sensor 80 times per second to avoid wasting time and prevent failures. HeyGears quotes up to 33% more speed (measured with PAWW10 versus conventional motion control) and an average of 4.5 seconds per layer. Actual speed depends on the model.
Adaptive Z compensation
Each material profile adjusts Z compensation for up to 180 combinations of angles, hole sizes and edge types. The result: less warping, less resin build-up in supported areas and less post-processing.
Automation
-
Residue detection: 0.1 N force sensors detect 0.2 mm residue and stop the print if there is a failure.
-
Auto-levelling: the floating screen compensates for unevenness of up to 240 μm.
-
Automatic resin refilling before and during printing.
-
Resin heating (optional): with the RS heated vat, the resin goes from 10 to 22 °C in 20 minutes and stays there. This vat is not included with the printer.
HeyGears Blueprint software
The RS Turbo is operated with Blueprint Studio (Windows and macOS). HeyGears says pre-processing takes one minute: one-click slicing, automatic mesh repair (inverted normals, holes, intersecting faces) and automatic scaffold-style supports that detach less often. There are pre-tuned profiles for HeyGears resins, including a 30 μm one for miniatures. You can send jobs and monitor print progress from your computer or phone.
Compatibility: resins, open materials and Pulsing Release Module
The RS Turbo works at 405 nm. HeyGears lists it as compatible with these UltraPrint resins: PAS10, PAF10, PAP10, PARP10, PAWR10, PAU11, PAWW10 and PAWW20. To get started, HeyGears recommends PAS10 for everyday use, PAF10 for miniatures with thin parts and PAP10 for highly detailed models.
It is not compatible with the range's engineering resins: PAT10 clear, PAC10 castable, PAU20, PAH270, PAE10 or PAM10. If you need them, take a look at the Reflex Turbo or the Reflex 2 Pro.
Third-party resins: the RS Turbo supports Open Material mode. In Blueprint you select "Open Material" and adjust exposure, light intensity (limited to 12-17 W/m² to protect the machine) and dimensional compensation. HeyGears says that simply adjusting exposure works for most 405 nm UV resins on the market. It is intended for experienced users, and the hardware warranty is maintained under HeyGears' terms.
Pulsing Release Module: this is optional. The Pulsing Release Module kit for RS and RS Turbo includes the module and the heated Pulsing Release RS vat. It inflates and deflates the vat film on each layer and reduces peel force by around 50%. With PAS10, HeyGears quotes 20-60% fewer supports and 25-54% fewer contact points. It works with PARP10, PAS10, PAP10, PAWR10, PAF10 and PAU11, not with PAWW10 or PAWW20, and is not recommended for walls of 3 mm or less. The vat can also be used without the module, just to heat the resin.

What's in the box
Printer, power cable, part removal tool, resin vat, build plate, Allen key and scraper. The Pulsing Release Module and the heated vat are sold separately.
Use and post-processing
Prepare the model in Blueprint, choose the resin and its profile, and send the job. The printer levels itself, refills resin and monitors for residue on its own. Then wash and cure the parts: HeyGears offers the UltraCraft Wash and the UltraCraft Cure, and you'll find more options in wash and cure machines and alcohol and post-processing. If you use water-washable resins, check out our water-washable resins.
RS series spare parts: resin vat, build plate, Amber LCD screen, screen protector, screen tape and Pulsing Release film.

Frequently asked questions
Is the RS Turbo 385 nm or 405 nm?
405 nm, according to HeyGears' official spec sheet. The Reflex Turbo and the Reflex 2 Pro are the 385 nm models.
Can I use resins from other brands?
Yes, with Blueprint Studio's Open Material mode. HeyGears states that, by adjusting exposure, it supports most 405 nm UV resins on the market. It is intended for experienced users.
Which HeyGears resins can I use?
PAS10, PAF10, PAP10, PARP10, PAWR10, PAU11, PAWW10 and PAWW20. Engineering resins such as PAT10, PAC10, PAU20, PAH270 or PAE10 are not compatible.
Is it good for miniatures?
That's its main purpose. It has a 29.7 μm pixel, a 566:1 contrast screen and a pre-tuned 30 μm profile for HeyGears resins.
Does it heat the resin?
Only if you fit the heated Pulsing Release RS vat, which is sold separately. With it, the resin goes from 10 to 22 °C in 20 minutes.
Do I need the Pulsing Release Module?
It isn't required for any compatible resin. It helps reduce supports and contact points. It doesn't work with the water-washable PAWW10 and PAWW20 resins.
Is it hard to use if I'm coming from an Elegoo or an Anycubic?
No. HeyGears recommends it precisely for people upgrading from an entry-level printer: it levels itself, refills resin on its own and Blueprint generates supports automatically.
Where does it ship from?
We ship it from our official HeyGears distributor in Europe.
