Raise3D High Detail Apricot: High-Resolution Resin for Detailed Models and Paintable Parts (1 kg)

The High Detail resin is Raise3D's go-to material when fine detail is everything. Its apricot matte finish makes surface relief and fine geometry easy to see, and Raise3D formulates it for both painting and electroplating. Raise3D recommends it for visual prototypes, sculptures, complex scale models, and small industrial parts where a poorly defined edge will show.

Key specs

  • Apricot color (PMS 2433 C / RAL 3012) with matte finish.
  • Engineered for very fine detail and high resolution.
  • Ready for painting and electroplating per Raise3D.
  • 58 MPa tensile strength and 2622 MPa Young's modulus post-cured.
  • 88D Shore hardness — the highest Raise3D publishes in this range.
  • HDT of 70 °C at 0.45 MPa.
  • 1 kg cartridge for the DF2 and DF2+.

Why apricot instead of gray?

Because a warm, matte color shows volumes and shadows far better than dark gray or pure white. You can check detail with the naked eye and in photos, and if you plan to paint or electroplate afterward, Raise3D says the surface takes it well.

Is it suitable for functional parts?

For small, high-precision parts, yes — Raise3D lists it for industrial precision applications. That said, elongation is low (13%), so if your part needs to flex or press-fit, the Tough 2K will be a safer choice.

Does it work in printers other than the DF2?

Raise3D only offers it for their DLP ecosystem — the DF2 and the DF2+. It comes in the 1 kg cartridge that feeds these machines' automatic resin system, and the DF2 verifies the resin type to apply the correct print, wash, and cure profiles via ideaMaker and the platform RFID. All datasheet tests were performed on a DF2. Raise3D publishes no compatibility with other 405 nm printers, so I won't sell it to you for that purpose.

Workflow

  • Before printing: Raise3D recommends shaking and stirring the cartridge thoroughly, storing it away from UV light, checking that resin levels are sufficient, and filtering out any cured particles between uses.
  • Printing: Use the DF2 or DF2+ with the official Raise3D profile. Test specimens for the datasheet were printed at 50 µm layer height with 9 s exposure per layer.
  • Washing: Use the DF Wash station with either IPA or TPM (both are compatible solvents). The DF Wash features dual-turbine agitation, dual-fan drying, and automatic draining. Wash profiles load automatically via RFID or can be entered manually.
  • Curing: Use the DF Cure, which combines 365, 385, and 405 nm LEDs with hot air up to 120 °C. Raise3D cured the reference test specimens for 15 minutes per side at room temperature.
  • Safety: Always wear gloves and avoid any skin contact while the resin is in liquid form.

Frequently Asked Questions

What layer height does Raise3D use for fine detail?
The datasheet specifies test specimens printed at 50 µm — the finest layer height available on the DF2.

Can it be metallized or plated?
Yes, Raise3D lists it as paint- and plating-ready straight out of the printer.

Is it suitable for sculptures and figures?
Yes, complex models and sculptures are among its official listed applications.

Is it more brittle than Standard resin?
It is slightly less flexible: 13% elongation at break versus 19% for Standard White, but it offers higher hardness (88D vs. 85D).

Are the specs in the table from Raise3D?
Yes. All values come from the official Raise3D Technical Data Sheet (TDS), with test specimens printed on a DF2 and post-cured in a DF Cure. Raise3D notes that these are typical reference values — real-world results will vary depending on part geometry, print orientation, and parameters.

What solvent should I use for washing?
IPA or TPM — both are listed by Raise3D as compatible with the DF Wash. Manual washing with IPA also works, but you won't get the automatic profile loading.

What format does it come in?
It comes in a 1 kg cartridge, the same format used by the DF2's automatic resin feed system.

How should I store it?
Keep it away from UV light, tightly sealed, and shake it well before each use — as recommended by Raise3D on the product page.
