HeyGears Pulsing Release Tank for Reflex and Reflex Turbo
Resin tank with Pulsing Release film for the first-generation Reflex. This is the tank the UltraCraft Pulsing Release Module works with on the Reflex and the Reflex Turbo. HeyGears states that the module must be used with this tank (or with the RS tank, on the RS).
Key points
-
Compatible with: Reflex and Reflex Turbo.
-
Module: UltraCraft Pulsing Release Module (first generation). The Reflex 2 series uses Module 2 and a different tank.
-
Heating: HeyGears lists it as compatible with the Reflex's automatic heating.
-
Required for: PAC10, PAE10, PAU20 and PAH270 on the Reflex and Reflex Turbo.
What the Pulsing Release Module does
The module periodically inflates and deflates the tank film. This cycle reduces the peel force of each layer by around 50 %. According to HeyGears, with PAU10 this means 25 % fewer supports and up to 20 % more speed with some resins. It is not recommended for models with walls of 3 mm or less.
Compatibility
- The Pulsing Release Module kit for Reflex already includes a tank like this one. The standalone tank works as a replacement or lets you keep one per resin.
- Resins that require the module: PAC10, PAE10, PAU20 and PAH270.
- Not compatible with the module: PAWW10 and PAWW20. For these, use the standard tank.
- If you use the module, HeyGears specifies a dedicated screen tape: Reflex Pulsing LCD Screen Tape.
- Not suitable for the Reflex RS, RS Turbo or the Reflex 2 series.
When to replace it
The film and the tank don't last the same amount of time. The Pulsing Release film can be replaced on its own: HeyGears sells it in packs of two and has a replacement video on its wiki. Replace the complete tank if the frame gets damaged, or buy a second one so you don't have to empty it every time you switch resins.
Installation and maintenance
- The official Pulsing Release Module Installation and Pulsing Release Film Replacement videos are on the HeyGears wiki, in the Reflex section.
- Check the resin before and after every print. A piece of cured residue can tear the film when the platform lowers.
- To remove residue, use the Resin Tank Cleaning function and the residue tool. Don't pull cured resin off by hand.
- To clean the tank, use isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth. You'll find them in alcohol and post-processing.
Which one should you choose?
If you only print standard or water-washable resins, the standard Reflex tank is all you need. For castable, elastic, tooling or high-temperature resins, you need this tank and the module.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work on the Reflex Turbo?
Yes. HeyGears lists it as compatible with the Reflex and Reflex Turbo.
Does it work with the Pulsing Release Module 2?
No. Module 2 is for the Reflex 2 series, which has its own tank.
Can I print PAC10 without the module?
No. HeyGears requires the Pulsing Release Module for PAC10, PAE10, PAU20 and PAH270.
What about water-washable resins?
PAWW10 and PAWW20 are not compatible with the module. Use the standard tank.
Do I need a different screen tape?
If you print with the module, HeyGears specifies the Reflex Pulsing LCD Screen Tape version.
Does it work on the Reflex RS?
No. The RS has its own heated Pulsing Release tank.
